Digital marketing

Affiliate and influencer

Creators and partners who sell for you, paid for what they actually sell.

What is the difference between affiliate and influencer marketing?

Affiliates are paid for sales they produce. Influencers are usually paid for the post.

That difference decides how much risk you carry. An affiliate programme costs you nothing until it works, which makes it easy to justify and slow to grow. Influencer work costs money up front and can move quickly, but a post can flop and you still pay.

Most brands should run both, and should treat the content as the durable asset. A creator video that performs organically usually performs as a paid ad too, which is where the budget tends to earn the most.

Questions people ask

How do you pay influencers?

A flat fee, a commission, product, or a mix. Smaller creators often accept product plus commission. Established ones expect a fee. We agree usage rights at the same time, because buying them later costs more.

Is affiliate marketing worth it for a small brand?

It can be, because you only pay on sales. The work is in recruitment and in policing, since coupon and cashback sites will happily claim credit for sales you already had.

How do you stop affiliate fraud?

Terms that exclude certain traffic types, tracking that shows where a sale came from, and a regular review of which partners are claiming last-click credit on branded searches.

Can we use the content in our ads?

Only if the contract says so. This is the most common thing brands forget, and it is the part with the most value in it.
